2nd Annual Orthodox Youth gathering at St. Antonios parish Monde, Luweero

The Orthodox youth of Uganda under the umbrella of Orthodox Christian Youth Network Uganda (OCYNU), have gathered for the 2nd annual Youth Camp at St. Antonios Orthodox Parish Mmonde, Luweero district and His Eminence Metropolitan Jonah Lwanga officiated the opening of this 4 days meeting with the Holy Liturgy on the morning of Thursday 13th December 2018.

This gathering which started on 13th through 16th December 2018 is based on the fundamentals of imparting the values, principles and teachings of Orthodox Christianity to the young generation which is believed to be the future and continuity of the Church. Over 300 youth and Young adults from different parishes of the 9 deaneries that comprise the structure of the Orthodox Church in Uganda will get the opportunity to interact with fellow Orthodox youth, share ideas, learn different catechetical ideologies and as well pave a way forward on how to fully integrate and participate in the daily activities and Holy Mysteries of the Orthodox Church.

Facilitators from different countries are taking part and providing their professional experience as Orthodox Christians to the Young and vibrant Orthodox youth of Uganda. Some of these facilitators include, Rev. Fr. Cassian Samuel Sibbley from the USA, Mr. Silviu Andrei Vladareanu from Romania, Mr. Martine Masongole from Sudan and local clergy from Uganda.
