Easter Message (2020) to the Nation from Metropolitan Jonah Lwanga “Resurrection day under the cloud of COVID19”

Dear my beloved Children in Christ!

We are celebrating the day of the Christian Passover, this year under the cloud of the Corona Virus disease. As Ekklesia in the desert chanting repeatedly:

This is the Day of Resurrection

Let us be illumined oh people!

The Passover, the Passover of the Lord!

From death unto life

And from earth unto heaven

Has Christ our God brought us over!

Singing a hymn of victory! (Canticle I)

But what does Passover of Christ or Christian mean in this hymn? The Christian soul when it escapes from the spiritual land of evil, sin and death, back to the land of goodness and virtue, then it is celebrating the resurrection in Christ. The Ekklesia continues the hymn:

Oh Christ, yesterday

I was buried with you

And today I rise again

With your rising

Yesterday

I was crucified with you

Do glorify me yourself

Oh Savior in your kingdom (Canticle III)

A Christian soul, that does not love the world more than God, that does not obey the Serpent more than God, it is in the process of being adopted as son or daughter of God, member of the kingdom of God.

The Word of God the Father became man (perfect) in Christ Jesus, for the redemption of mankind from evil, sin and death. However, the coronavirus which now threatens mankind by death is merely one of the evils and sins, reproduced in the life of men. Note that, all kinds of vice – the opposites to virtue – are reproduced evils and sins in the life of men. What is the origin of these malfunctioning elements or conditions in the life of men? The problem was and yet is difficult to have a solution by mankind itself, without the divine revelation of God.

In accordance to the divine revelation, a “free will” function of the created (soul) when it functions in opposition to the will of the Uncreate (God), then a moral or ethical evil is produced. And eventually, a physical evil can be reproduced from the ethical evil. This is the formula that explains Satan, the Serpent, as the origin of evil, sin and death. Gn 3:1. 2 Cor 11:3. Rev 12:9; 20:2, 7. Freely, man disobeys God’s Will and follows the evil styles of Satan, the devil. The consequence of according to “free will” disobedience of man to God is death, ethically in the first place, and physically in the second place. Gn 2,3. Jn 8:44.

Certainly, this state does not follow that, therefore Christ the Savior did not lay strong foundation for appropriate resistance against all evils, sins and death. According to holy Scriptures, Christ the Word of God perfectly did His mission, for the salvation of human race. Mt 11:27. Lk 10:21-22. Jn 14:6-7. But the implementation of this mission, as God’s call to humanity, remained duty and problem of human beings, individually and communally. Mt 10:40; 28:18-20. Jn 13:20; 14-17. For responsibly, besides God’s grace itself, the participation in and the fulfilment of the call belongs to human beings, when they accept the mission obediently and cooperate faithfully. Since it is about becoming new persons from the old, and building up the kingdom of God from all nations, but in accordance to the principles provided in the divine revelation. 2 Cor 5:17. Gal 6:15. Eph 4:22-25. Col 3:9-11.

Nevertheless, however, not only the other deniers of Jesus, but also most of the Christians themselves today in the world do not practice both the natures (godly – human) of Christ, neither Christian virtues, as much as possible. For the expected adoption of them as children of God, through the redemptive work of Christ and the Holy Spirit.

Apostle Paul observes: Truly, God the Father chose us in Christ the Word, “before the creation of the world, to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons / children, through Jesus Christ in accordance with His pleasure and will, to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us, in the One He loves.” Eph 1:4-6. Mt 3:17. Mk 1:11. Lk 3:22. Jn 1:32-34.

Ending this extraordinary message to the nation of Uganda, we call all citizens to appreciate the main fact that, when our God created all things from nothing unto existence, all creation was good. Gn 1:1-31. All evils, sin and death are not creatures of the Good God. These characters came through satanic distortion of the principles. Therefore, as we fear and protect ourselves against the CORONAVIRUS evil, in the same way we should keep away from all injustices, corruptness and sins, putting on the two natures of Christ and the Christian virtues.

A blessed and Joyful Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
