On the feast of the theophany of our Lord and Savior, the faithful of Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church – Aloyo Ajong in the holy diocese of Gulu witnessed the mystery of Baptism.
As it were during the Baptism of our Lord by John the Baptist in the river Jordan when; the Heavens were opened, the Spirit descended in the form of a dove upon our Lord that was being baptized and the voice was heard from the Heavens hearing witness that this was the beloved Son of God, now baptized as a man (Matt. 3:13-17; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 3:1-22)., more than fifty (50) catechumens both young and adult joined the Ekklesia through the holy Mystery of Baptism.
The mystery was presided over by His Grace Bishop Nektarios assisted by Rev. Fr. Simon Manya, Rev. Fr. George, and Rev. Deacon Richard Okello.
After the baptism, His Grace congratulated the new members of the One Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church upon this milestone and encouraged them to always live a life befitting of an Orthodox Christian.
He also reminded them to never forget to practice their faith by following the holy mysteries of the Church and wished all the faithful a happy and blessed new year.
